Fisher® Electro-Pneumatic and Pneumatic Positioners
Positioners are most commonly used to move a control valve to a specified position so that a process meets specific parameters (flow, pressure, temperature). Fisher® positioners have the reputation of providing the most accurate, robust, and reliable performance in the industry.
Electro-Pneumatic Positioners
Electromechanical positioners are conventional pneumatic positioners that have an additional integrated electro-pneumatic transducer. The transducer receives the DC analogue input signal from the control system and converts it to a proportional pneumatic signal which is then sent to the conventional positioner Almost every Fisher® pneumatic positioner has the option of adding an integrated electro-pneumatic transducer. This option allowing customers to upgrade their existing control technology while continuing to use their current reliable Fisher® positioner technology they are comfortable and familiar with.

Pneumatic Positioners
Conventional pneumatic positioners receive a pneumatic control signal and translate that into the appropriate pneumatic output signal to the control valve actuator. This positioner technology has been the stalwart for the process control industry for decades, and is still extensively used. We make a variety of Fisher® pneumatic positioners to meet almost any need a customer may have.
